CARA JUAN
musician/storyteller/performance artist/educator
Cara is an certified educator, performance artist, storyteller, outdoor enthusiast and vocalist based out of Chicago. Her mission is to foster community through expression, curiosity and exploration.
Cara's work in education has spanned special education, secondary math, performance arts, outdoor/recreational education and english as a second language. Cara is most interested in creating a sense of belonging through points of access. She employs UDL strategies and data driven decision making to identify specific barriers to learning and create scaffolds/differentiation to provide individualized educational opportunities.
Cara has performed and created with multiple indie bands throughout the years and has played hundreds of shows across the US. They have shared bills with Roses, Magna Carda and Jack Harlow as well as had the honor of playing as an official SXSW artist in 2022. In addition to music venues, Cara also works in traditional theater spaces, with recent credits including Dot in Sunday In the Park with George and Sibella in A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder.
